Getting started!

John and I arrived into Anchorage this afternoon.  I was coming from Kelowna, BC after dropping off my dog and visiting family and had a very enjoyable 3+ hour flight from Vancouver to Anchorage.  The day started early - but not as early as John's.  I think his flight left Albany at 6am, so calculating driving time and check in time you could say that he was trying to get as much of nighttime as he could - that's why he was up early!  It is just after 9pm in Anchorage (~1am Schenectady time) and looking outside it seems like it is the middle of the day!

We can't wait for the 11 students to arrive on Thursday.  It is a bit chilly (mid 50s to mid 60s) but this is typical for Alaska this time of year.  So come with your jacket and camera handy because we will head out to Flattop Mountain (picture) once everyone is Anchorage for our overview of Cook Inlet start of the trip!

See you soon!
